Hi and welcome to my blog kimmyspatchwork!

 My name is Kimberley and I am a full time mummy. I have been sewing and crocheting at home for a couple of years and started to sell a few bits on eBay.
I now have a etsy shop, so please feel free to take a look:

I have decided that I would like to set up a proper etsy shop, as I have had one open but no sales due to lack of experience and not knowing the best way to go about it!
This blog aims to help you with some basics of how to sew baby and children's items, from skirts to patchwork quilts.
I also like to crochet baby and children items. This is a brand new blog and a learning process so please be patient I will be uploading as soon as I can. I am also going to be setting up a new etsy shop using pattern soon.

Understanding american and English crochet terms! When I first started learning to crochet I was keen to pop to the nearest bookshop to purchase as many books as I could find! I then rushed home and started crocheting but with no success, I knew I was holding the yarn correctly, so the tension was correct (thanks to many videos watched on YouTube). Sewing - Measurements required to make a basic elasticated skirt for a baby

A while ago I made a basic elastic skirt, I then decided that they were quick and easy to make so why not make some more that I will eventually put on my etsy shop when updated. The trouble was I couldn't find any measurements for babies waists at different ages. Here is a guide to standard waist measurements for babies: 0-3 months  16" (inches) 3-6 months  17" 6-12 months 17-18" 18 months  18.5" 2 years.  19" 3 years.  20" Please remember that these are basic standard measurements that most clothing is made to, but every child is different some are smaller others are taller! Soon I will be uploading a post of how to make an elasticated skirt for baby and these measurements will be required x
